Reiki Classes and Events

The Reiki Share Project seeks to partner with healthcare and community organizations to sponsor our reiki classes. These classes are appropriate for many groups, e.g., individuals dealing with any serious illness or disability; family caregivers; parents of children with special needs; veterans and their families; those dealing with personal trauma; hospice volunteers; and healthcare professionals.

You can share the gift of Reiki by sponsoring a class.

As a nonprofit, we provide our classes at a lower cost or for free by funding our programs through private donations and fee-for-service. If you are an organization or community group interested in sponsoring a Reiki class or community outreach program, please email us at info@thereikishareproject.org or call us at (630) 244-8141.

Classes:

INTRODUCTION TO REIKI
A one hour presentation for those who are new to Reiki.  We explain the practice and benefits of Reiki, and describe how easily Reiki can be integrated into daily life. This power point presentation can be offered for community groups, healthcare organizations, conferences, and workshops.
REIKI LEVEL ONE
This eight hour Level I Reiki class teaches students a self-care practice that is helpful in promoting relaxation, managing stress, and enhancing ones overall health and sense of well- being. Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to offer Reiki to themselves as well as family and friends.
REIKI LEVEL TWO
In this eight hour class students will learn to use three Reiki symbols; more fully explore the concept of distant healing; conduct a full Reiki session using the symbols; and consider the professional and ethical aspects of Reiki practice. To participate in this class, a student must have completed Reiki Level One and be self-treating with Reiki on a regular basis.

Stories:

Janeen's StoryReiki supported Reiki Master Janeen when she had cataracts removed. This simple procedure evoked many fears for Janeen. Years ago, a retinal detachment in one eye left her with impaired vision. Recently she developed bilateral cataracts.  She was told that surgery on her “problem eye” could result in another detachment and potential blindness. She asked her friend, Reiki Master Greg, to accompany her into the OR and offer Reiki to her and the surgical team. Her surgeon was unfamiliar with Reiki but gave his consent. Greg, in full surgical scrubs, was with her for both procedures. Surgical outcomes—Janeen’s “good eye” healed quickly and now has 20/20 vision. Her “problem eye” healed well with no detachment and improved vision. She no longer needs glasses for distance. Janeen believes that Reiki helped to calm her fears, and contributed to her speedy healing and positive outcome. “My doctor said I could be a poster child for cataract surgery because I recovered so quickly! I am extremely grateful for my restored vision.”

“I have used Reiki as a tool in my fight against cancer. The physical weakness, hospital visits, doctor consultations, and blood transfusions caused overwhelming stress – until I reached into my toolbox and used Reiki to help calm me and give me the strength to fight for my life. Using Reiki empowered me to act on my own behalf to get well. What better gift can there be than to give yourself a tool that assists you in being more relaxed, less stressed, and more present in this process we call living”
Theresa W.

The first time I went through chemotherapy for breast cancer, the Reiki sessions I received helped me deal with stress and I was encouraged to take a class through The Reiki Share Project. After a couple years, I was diagnosed with recurrent cancer requiring further treatment. I self-treated with Reiki in the weeks before and after surgery. I also received regular sessions from Reiki practitioners. I credit Reiki for contributing to my rapid, comfortable recovery. When my skin was painful from radiation, I followed the recommendations of my healthcare providers for treatment and… then I added Reiki. All of this together helped make the pain tolerable and I healed more quickly. I would never give up my allopathic treatments for recurrent breast cancer but Reiki is a wonderful addition to standard medical care.
