Program Overview

Through our partnerships with other organizations and community groups, we provide introductory Reiki classes for individuals, caregivers, and professional caregivers facing the day-to-day challenges that accompany serious illness, disability, or trauma. Through our Reiki Community Outreach programs, we raise awareness about the practice and benefits of Reiki.

We are able to provide our services at minimal cost by funding our programs through grants, private donations, and fee-for-service. If you are an organization or community group interested in sponsoring a Reiki class or community outreach program, please email us at info@thereikishareproject.org or call us at (630) 244-8141.

Reiki Stories That Inspire Us

Jane

I have been offering Reiki to myself every day for the past two years.  Reiki has helped my mind, body and spirit.  Mind-- Reiki helps me to think more clearly and my memory has improved.  Body--I have autoimmune health issues that make me hypersensitive to foods as well as many things in the environment.  Reiki has given me my energy back.  Before Reiki, I could hardly roll out of bed in the morning, but now I wake up feeling energetic.  At the end of the day I still have energy left over.  I sometimes have allergic reactions to foods that I eat.  My breathing is affected and my whole body “freaks out.” Now if I have these symptoms, I begin to offer Reiki to my whole stomach area.  The Reiki calms and relaxes me, and within 15 to 20 minutes the symptoms subside. Spirit-- Reiki has given me the most inner peace I have ever experienced in my life.  It has restored my faith and has reconnected me to my spiritual being.  As a Reiki Master Teacher, I have seen the things that Reiki can do.  Reiki has truly been a life-changing experience for me. Mary Marie, Reiki Master Teacher

My friend told me about Reiki in January, 2008.  I signed up for a class and almost did not make it.  I was very sick with cancer and side effects of chemotherapy.  But my friend insisted and told me that she would drive me to class.  I realized that Reiki was knocking on my door and I had to embrace this opportunity.  I literally dragged myself to the classes and I have never looked back since then.  I came away from class feeling strong and invigorated both mentally and emotionally, although I was still physically weak and tired.  Reiki proved to be not only a chance to learn energy healing but also opened a door to spirituality and self-examination.
I practice Reiki self-treatment every day.  I have learned to do it in a meditative mode, and I feel I am a better, calmer and more considerate person.  I have a whole new outlook on spirituality and religion.  Whatever beliefs I had before were those taught to me as I was growing up, but now I have acquired and embraced new values since I began practicing Reiki. My BCR/ABL (blood test for CML -leukemia) was at the highest count before I started Reiki self-treatments, and for the last 12 months I have been in remission or near remission.  I believe that Reiki’s positive energy has definitely contributed to these results, made me more upbeat, and given me a whole new attitude and perspective on life.
